SIHM (SIP/H324m) Gateway

3G-H.324M is the standard used in UMTS 3G phones to enable video calls between UMTS users. NetResults SIHM (SIP/H324M) Gateway realizes the convergence between 3G-UMTS video/voice services and SIP-VoIP telephony.

In particular, the SIHM Gateway offers advanced video-communication services, customized according to the customers requirements:

· Video phonecall service

· Video-streaming on-demand service
for 3G mobilephones

· Video IVR support, through DTMF signalling

Video IVR support

The system is able to provide to users an IVR (Interactive Voice Responder) service based on video messages. It consists in an interactive answering machine usable via DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) signalling that leads users to the requested service through a sequence of recorded video-messages.
Adopting a video interface makes the interaction with the answering machine easier and more friendly for users.

Video phonecall service

NetResults SIHM Gateway allows video phone-calls. Since in this case the video flow is unidirectional, it’s more correct to call these communications “video-messages”.
The video-messages are saved and converted into several video formats according to customers requirements (MPEG2, H.263, H.264, MPEG4, RealVideo, Windows Media Video, 3gp). Finally they are recorded in a database.
All the recorded video-messages can be accessed and streamed via a web-based interface or via the video-streaming on demand service for 3G mobile phones described below or, even, simply sent by email.

Video-streaming on-demand service for 3G mobile phones

NetResults SIHM Gateway is able to stream on-demand the videos recorded in a database directly to users’ 3G/UMTS mobile phones. The users can choice the desired videos using the video IVR service.
In this way, users can watch for example the video-messages recorded in their own video-messages archive or obtain multimedia contents about news, sports, events provided by the system administrator.
